Midtown Views and Stylish Suites at Royalton Park Avenue Hotel

Yo New York in the house! It feels damn good to be back in NYC this week as part of my bachelorette trip back to the US. I wanted to hit the ground running after I landed since I’m only here for a week, so I decided to stay at the Royalton Park Avenue located in Gramercy on 29th St. and Park Avenue, which was super convenient for the itinerary I had planned my first weekend here.

In terms of the accommodations, my Grand Deluxe King room was incredibly spacious, with a comfortable king sized bed, large desk, and a full sitting area that we took advantage of for a chill night drinking wine in the hotel room. There was also a balcony that faced 29th street for some fresh air and city views. The bathroom had a separate shower and full-sized tub offering C.O. Bigelow bath products.

The best part about the Royalton Park Avenue is undoubtedly the rooftop pool. It has a direct view of the Empire State Building, perfect for getting that Instagram photo. The pool is large enough to do some laps, and it’s surrounded by a good number of lounge chairs both in and out of the sun.

To reach the pool, there is a lounge area that you pass through which serves as a daytime cafe and brunch spot before transitioning at night with a DJ and full bar. We enjoyed Sunday brunch there with a solid eggs Benedict on focaccia bread, Nutella French toast, and applewood smoked bacon.

Through the rooftop lounge, you can also access a separate sun deck that’s not as trafficked if you want a quiet spot to read or catch some rays.

In terms of the location, the Royalton Park Avenue is located right next to the 6 train station, and a short walk to other trains in Midtown. It was incredibly convenient for my trip back to NYC as it was just a block away from 2 awesome places I had plans to visit – Atoboy, a modern Korean small plates restaurant, and Atomix, Atoboy’s fine dining sister restaurant with an excellent bar for cocktails. I also loved that it was a short walk to Tone House, my favorite workout in NYC, and Madison Square Park and all of the great food in that area like Shake Shack, Zucker’s, and Eataly.

Overall, the Royalton Park Avenue is a great option for a visit to NYC. It’s got comfortable, spacious accommodations, and is close to a number of the main tourist attractions in Midtown without the crowds while providing its own charms and great views.
