Translating to “good fortune for your mouth,” Ho Lee Fook delivers consistently great and creative Chinese cuisine with friendly service, a bumping soundtrack, and reasonable prices in a hip, neon-accented SoHo basement. With a variety of small plates and roast meat platters, the restaurant works both for a date and for going with a group to go family style on its wide menu. As one of HK’s most popular restaurants, you should be prepared for up to a 2 hour wait at peak times (though groups of 5 and up can make a reservation).
Must-order: roasted wagyu short ribs, roast goose, dumplings, wagyu steak tartare, lamb dan dan noodles
Also worth eating: prawn toast x okinomiyaki, Chongqing style chicken wings, wok fried cheong fan, french toast, Breakfast 2.0
