Easy Cheesy Puff Pastry Christmas Appetizers

Cheesy Puff Pastry Christmas Tree & Snowflake with Camembert and Brie-1-min

Tis the season for all the cheesy, buttery, and flaky starters! I love working with puff pastry since it produces such delicious results with so little work. This year, I shape the puff pastry into a Christmas tree layered with fig jam and slices of brie, and into a cranberry and bacon snowflake with a baked Camembert in the center. I used Ile de France‘s Brie and Petit Camembert to impart that creamy, buttery cheese flavor into the puff pastry, which my Hong Kong followers can find in Taste France‘s selection of French products on foodpanda’s Pandamart all December long.

While both dishes look super impressive, all you really need to do is layer the ingredients, make some cuts into the assembled pastry, then twist the layers to create each shape. You can customize these very easily – try a pesto and sliced mozzarella Christmas tree or a prosciutto, onion jam and brie snowflake. Or you could even make these sweet by spreading Nutella or sweetened cream cheese! Go wild with your imagination – it’s the holidays after all so it’s the best time to indulge.

If you want to add some more protein to your puff pastry, try it as my Cheesy Pesto Chicken Wreath. While that recipe shows you how to make it with crescent rolls, you can easily sub in puff pastry as shown in this video.
